Signature Problem

Hello everybody,
I have a signature problem in my forum. I don't know if it is a general problem or a problem in my forum, that can be solved by pushing a few buttons.

Let's say i have a member with 500 posts(random number) and he decides to have a signature under his posts. He chooses what to write in his signature, and applies it into his profile. Then he makes a post and his signature appears in it, and a second post, and his signature also appears. But in the 500 posts he made before he has no signature. It will not appear in them even after days (that i checked of).

Hοw can i solve this? I want the members signatures to appear in all of their posts. Even the old ones, before they applied the signature in.

That's not possible. Before starting to post, he should've modified his account already. This question was already asked about a couple of months ago and seeing as the result would be that the user has to modify the account BEFORE posting, there's nothing we can do about it

I don't know what you mean.
He had his account for 2 years now. He never used a signature before. Now that he wanted to use one, he applied the changes in his profile. His signature is visible in every post he made after he apllied it. It is not seen in the posts he made before he applied it in his profile.

Shouldn't the signature be in all of his posts? Before and after the application of the signature?
Is it something he has to change in his profile settings?
In every other forum when you decide to apply a signature in your posts it apllies in all of them. Even in your first post 1-2 years ago.

As I said, it's impossible. If you posted a post without the signature attached to your profile, the signature won't appear UNLESS you repost the same thing over again which I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to happen since it'll be a hard task to restart every topic since you applied it's been years since eh ad that account

Note: On some forum versions, it's possible that you still won't see your signatures on posts you have already made, although you have activated all necessary options. There is no other way to change this than to edit those posts and mark the box "attach my signature to this post" and save.

The members of my forum only have editting permissions for an hour or so.

i never used a signature but in this day i used one and it appeared in all of my old posts idk if that don't happen in Invision but it should

Please read this again. It clearly mentions, for previous posts you will need to edit those posts & mark the box "attach my signature to this post" and save.

It is not happening in invision. I don't know why. In every other forum on every other platform, the signature applies in all the previous posts. Not in invision though.

This is not helpfull. There are some members with over 1500 posts that haven't yet used a signature.I can't tell them that they have to edit 1500 posts in order to have their signature in older posts.
Besides i have granded only a few hours window for members to edit their posts after they post it. I'm not willing to unlock that feature and let some of them make a mess in their older posts. Some members some times act childish. They could go and erase their posts or something.

So you are telling me that this bug can't be fixed, if i understand correctly. I mean besides the solution of mebers editting their old posts. Right?

Sorry there is no other way.

The only way for them not to be able to delete their posts is IF someone posted there already (So as long as they're not a moderator).

But yeah, manual is the only way, sorry .

It seems the answers have been provided more then once.

If the person already have a sig and was in all the other post already, when they change their Sig it will appear as what they change it to.
But if he never had a sic before and has 500 post, it show in the new post he is posting unless he went back and edited each post.

there is now way you can have something appear as a sig in post that was never thee before.

Since there isn't really a solution, this is not solved.
But it can be locked, if there is nothing else that can be done.
