    Solved CNAME Hosting .tk

Post by !_NICK_! December 7th 2012, 5:18 am

I know that there has only been 1 tutorial created about this, but I can not find this anywhere else.

My question is how to transfer my dot.tk domain, to forumotion. I want to have a .tk domain basically (it's free).

When I go to CNAME, it wants a Hostname and IP Address. What do I put for these fields?

    Hello,

    Moved to the right section

Here's the tutorial to redirect an external domain to your forum :
    https://help.forumotion.com/t7021-redirect-an-extern-domain-name-that-you-own-to-your-board

But, you have to know that using a .tk domain can provokes some issues with your forum. They aren't real domain name but iframe, that's why they are free Smile

Please read this other topic : https://help.forumotion.com/t114515-tk-domains-don-t-work#754974

Well, I'm not sure if this means the same thing, but I don't think they are iframes.

I got a server and I was able to use my dot.tk domain with them, and host it. I can put whatever I want behind the url like domain.tk/whateverhere

I don't see why you couldn't with forumotion? It's the best forum software.
