    Solved Auto-resizing of images doesn't work

    Post by Mariofan13 December 15th 2012, 11:21 pm

    Hello Smile
    After I removed the lightbox effect (I deleted the JavaScript and the CSS), automatically resizing of images doesn't work anymore.
    The settings in my ACP:
    Auto-resizing of images doesn't work 0scree10
    But in the topics, the pictures will not be resized. Look here;: http://mario-universe.forumieren.com/t205-eure-desktops#1649
    I had deleted my posting aand wrote it again, but the image is not resized. In the prewiev, resizing works. But after sending the posting, the image is in original size again Sad
    What's the problem?

    The image I saw, using the URL you provided, showed an image which would be about the 600 x 600px size as shown in the screenshot of the image resizer.

    If you want them to be smaller just alter the px number in the Image resizer. Click Save.

    It should not have anything to do with that that. If you have it set to 600x600 it only means that any images that are larger then that will not go past your set dimensions.

    Like it is not going to take a image that may be 350 by 150 and make it 600x600.

    So what i would do is add a large wallpaper, and it should adjust to what you have set, it may vary depending on the dimensions but the width should be at at least 600 px

    NDragon1412's image was 800 x 600. The others in the "Spoilers" are way over 1,000px X 900px, some even bigger.

    if they are not resizing by being in spoiler tags then just remove the tags.
    If i remember correctly i think the tags will bypass the option.

    I will have to test it on a test forum, there is css you can add to re-size images as well.

    We spoilered the images, because resizing does not work Wink
    They were not resized without spoilers too Wink

    there is css you can add to re-size images as well.

    Okay, but can we fix the problem, so that the settings in the ACP will work again? Wink

    So then you are saying the images are not resizing at all, like if you post a large wallpaper well over the dimensions youhave set, it is showing the full size wallpaper and not resizing??

    yeah then something is defiantly wrong, be sure you do have the image re-size activated. and do you have a link to the post where the images are, my guess is either the image is getting cut off or it is stretching the post? so please post the link so we can see, and make sure your setting are correct once again

    well there is nothing in there for re-sizing your images. Let m,e see if i can find the css for resizing.
    I do not understand why forums re-sizer would not be working? i am going to my test board now to double check on how the settings should be, and will see if i can find a css for it as well.

    Okay Wink
    But I want to know, why the forum resizer doesn't works Wink
    Maybe we need a technician?

    Edit: There is a bug in the HIDE-Box here on the forum: You can see the link "select content"? A click on this link makes the site "jumpig" to the begin, and does not select the content of the HIDE-Box Sad

    try this for temp fix now.
    put it in the bottom off your css sheet.

    Code:

    /* ----------------- */

    .posttdMessage img {
    max-width:600px;
    width:expression((this.width>700) ? "600px" : true);
    }
    .posttdMessage img {
    max-height:700px;
    height:expression((this.height>700) ? "700px" : true);

    /* ----------------- */

    And yes if you like to create a test account and make it a admin i can have a look.
    It is better just to create your own test account, make it a admin, then you can change it when i am fished and you will still have a test account for anything you may need it for down the road.

    Send me the pass and whatever you name it to me pm and i will take a look.

    This is no double-post or bumping, because the staff edited his response into my posting.

    The CSS-Code does not work. One "}" is missing at the end. So I added the "}", but it is still not working (cache deleted) Sad

    Look at your inbox Wink

    Ok it looks like i am going to have to get leeloo to look in to this?
    not sure why that css is not working on your board either because it works on my test forum. And i cant see why the forums option is not working either.

    I tried with a couple image host thinking may be it was just a servimg thing, but that's not the case it will not re-size regardless of the host.

    So i will message her and have here take a look at it.
    You ca go ahead and change the pass for the temp account or delete it now.

    Actully to re-sync your forum.
    Then if not you should be able to restore the forum back a day or two before this started in your forums utilities.
    https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/

    And if either one of them do not work then i will message her, i dint think of trying to re-sync when i was there, and utilities only you have accesses to.

    The utilities should to the trick if it was working fine before.

    A re-sync of the forum doesn't solve the problem.
    And I don't want to make a backup, because I don't want to lose one hundred postings Wink
    I s a style backup enough?

    PhpBB2 resizing tools in my forum also not working sometimes..
    If you want, try this CSS :
    Code:
    .postbody img {
    max-width: 600px;
    max-height: 600px
    }
    Change '600' to whatever number that you want.. Wink

    Hey Mario did you by chance edit any of your templates in say viewtopic_body? Or add a code that pertains to images recently?
