I was wondering how to stop a user from posting?

General => Categories and Forums Click on a forum name Permissions tab Modify it there.

Then your only options left are editing his permission. Do the following:

1. Open your ACP.
2. Click on Users & Groups.
3. Search user, then simply click on the permission tab and edit the permission the way you wish.

Well the user may not be in a group, so then you would create a hidden group just for that person and put them in it, then go the permissions of that group and disallow that group from posting.

It turns out I was wrong about this. I am trying to restrict a particular members access to be able to post in a forum section and it won't let me. This is what I did, I created a new group for this member so I could set the permissions of that group to not allow that group to post in a forum section and I put that member in it, but when I go to set the permissions for that group the option to not allow that group to post in that section is greyed out. And to add insult to injury in order to create the group if the first place I had a appoint a "Moderator" of that group so I had to choose myself, so if for some reason that is why that group is greyed out so I can't restrict that groups access to a particular forum I'm SOL. I don't understand the logic of needing a Moderator to create a group. In any event I can't make one group have less access than a member that is not in a group.

Any ideas on how to do this?

Thank you Rideem I appreciate that, but unfortunately the problem resulted in the person getting banned so there is no need for the code now, but it could be useful someday you never know, so I'll keep this in mind and refer to it should I need to use it. Thanks again.
