    Solved Facebook Plugin

    Post by turigee January 30th 2013, 2:38 pm

    Hi

    I added facebook plugin to my site as a widget but did not work normally. It seams I need to add the codes to the javascripts. How do I add facebook scripts to my javascripts.

    Thank you

    It did not work with Javascript code management. However, when I tried HTML pages management, it worked but my forum content page was blank.

    If its a automatically generated code, add it directly to your forum widget.

    The generated codes are two. I need to add one to the forum widget and the other one to the html Page. I did what I usually do with Blogger but it did not work here.

    Your Like Box plugin code:

    1. Include the JavaScript SDK on your page once, ideally right after the opening <body> tag.

    <div id="fb-root"></div>
    <script>(function(d, s, id) {
    var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
    if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
    js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;
    js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1";
    fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
    }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script>

    2. Place the code for your plugin wherever you want the plugin to appear on your page.

    <div class="fb-like-box" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/motherlandjobs" data-width="292" data-show-faces="false" data-colorscheme="light" data-stream="false" data-header="false"></div>

    Could you post the link to the page where you are getting these codes? The reason why is that when I used one from Facebook, I only used one code in an announcement.

    Thanks. They have changed it since I used the one on my forum. It used to only offer two codes to pick from.

    You put both those codes in the widget. Facebook is just suggesting the ideal way of doing it for a webpage, but the widgets do not work exactly the same as a webpage.

    When you create the code, after the creation there is a tab for iframe. You can use that code in your widget.
