why cant i attach a txt file in a new topic

keep getting this error: "The extension txt is not allowed"

Go to the "post reply" button and scroll down. You will see an attachments button. You can add the txt extension there.

yes i know where to add them but that was not the problem
i was asking why i get that error when trying to attach a txt file to a new topic

What exactly is the extension on the file you are trying to upload?

nope still getting that error

file size is only 1 mb

it would seem to me that txt files would be the most popular
so not sure why they wont let me attach them

I tested this on my forum, and my file was uploaded fine. How do you have the attachments set up in the administration panel?

no worries i figured i would just rar them and attach and it works fine
