"Leave shadow topic in old forum"?

Hello, everyone!

There one thing that I never understood while I moved topics.

It that thing named "Leave shadow topic in old forum" which appears when the staff move topics. I have to know something...

What is this thing actually?

This is a feature which, it will leave a shadow topic from the old forum it belongs so that the members will be notified. This is a sample.

From the old forum it do belongs after you move it:


To the new forum you move it:

Oh!

That's what it is? Then, can members post in the old topic?

It does not exactly leave the thread there. When a member replies to the thread, it will be posted where the thread has been moved.

I think it will show as moved as long as no one has replied in that thread in the old forum. Once, someone replies in either of the threads the shadow is gone. [basically this image will be gone]

Then, after I made a "shadow" of it, then I can, like, um, can I just simply move the old topic into the new forum, with out the shadow?

You can move a thread without even leaving a shadow link.

For example :-

I made a topic, let's say, affiliations, which is in the "News/Updates/Announcements" section and now, I moved Affiliations to the Rules and Important Information section after leaving a shadow of it in it's old section "News/Updates/Announcements". Now, I DON'T WANT the shadow in the "News/Updates/Announcements" section, but I WANT "Affiliations" to stay in the Rules and Important Information section.

Now, my question is that AFTER I MAKE A SHADOW of the topic in it's old section, can I remove the shadow?

Just reply to that thread in the shadow topic, it will be gone then.

Then you can delete that post in the actual forum which would be in Rules and Important Information section
