Solved Part of my forum is not in English

Post by Bluangel Wed Jun 12, 2013 1:55 am

The new topic buttons, and some others are in a language I don't recognize. I have set the admin and my profile to English so I must be missing something..

    Hello,

If you created your forum from the other support forums(French,Arabic etc.) It will indeed have a different language, you can change the buttons to icons(with English language) here:
Admin Panel > Display > Pics Management > Advanced Mode

I have had the same problem. It could be the theme you have chosen, or as Jophy said, you could have created it from another support forum. You can look for buttons in the completed graphics requests, like this one here: https://help.forumotion.com/t124182-buttons?highlight=posting+buttons. Just right-click on the image you want to use, click copy link location, and add it through Administration Panel>Display>Pics Management>Advanced Mode. Very Happy

Ok, maybe I picked a too tough forum to start out with. I got my buttons working.

Now I can't post. I was able o. I can create new forums and groups, give rights to everybody, it says in the ovum I have full rights but when I make a post the screen does like a refresh but then takes me back to my post I just created but it is not submitted giving me the preview button and send button.

    Hello,

Ok, so the button issue was now fixed?

Now, for the posting issue, so you're able to post but the post won't show up?

I create a post then click send. The screen basically does a refresh and that is it. The post is not made.

Usually, it says your message has been posted. Its then supposed to wait about 3 seconds, and then redirect you to your post you just made. Is the post isn't visible at all? Confused

No it basically stays on the post I am attempting to create. Is this an iPad deal as I am trying to post from my iPad.

I'm not aware if there is an issue posting in ipad, however, I suggest you to try to post on a computer and see if a post will be made.

Try viewing the desktop version of the forum, and then try to post again. I'm not sure if this will help or not, but usually mobile versions aren't as good as the desktop versions of websites. If that doesn't help, try what Jophy said, and try it on a computer.

I will give that a shot later this evening. Of course I can post here with no issues.

Ok I found that my title was not long enough in characters.  I tried the exact same post with my laptop and an error came back stating that my topic was not long enough.  The iPad does not state the error.

It could be just a mobile issue then. Would this make this topic solved then? Very Happy

Yes it would.  Am I supposed to do something to close it?

Just hit edit on one of your posts in this topic and change the topic icon to Solved and hit Send. :DA mod/admin will then lock the topic.
