Solved The New Editor of Forumotion and the old one

    Post by E-Mark June 12th 2013, 2:57 pm

I just want to suggest to add an options on which editor the administrator of a forum wanted for his/her forum.
The old one which worked nice, and the new one which have slightly bugs, especially on mobile users.

I know some of you love the new editor, and there are also some that doesn't like it, that's why the good way i've come up with is to add an option to choose between the 2.

Also, if you'll implement the new one, i suggest to add a black version of it.
    Smile

I think always having an option to go back is always a good thing and have therefore voted yes.

Its nice though that Forumotion have given us this editor as it does look nice even though it is as E-Mark said slightly buggy but The Godfather has said new updates will becoming out for it depending on the communities feedback.

I agree with all that have commented before me. As my forum has mostly mobile users, I not only want but also need the option to have the old editor back.

Our forum has a black/dark theme, it looks hideous on there right now. If we can't switch, at least make it match all the themes!

I voted yes as I am all for providing administrators with alternative options and allowing them to decide what is best.

    Voted YES . . .

As the Administrator/Owner of a forum I wish to be able to choose to switch up dates on or off . . . Especially when the upgrade ??? Has more bugs than a bughouse in it, and does not work properly. Evil or Very Mad

My entire forum membership are not happy with this abomination unto forumotion.

Grant Forum Owners/Administrators the choice to switch it off.

When quoting or multi quoting , or heck , even when posting a message, swapping from WYSIWYG to "normal" (pre changes/switch editor mode), mode makes my forum freeze or crash.

phpBB3 forum ~ yamaha-thundercats dot org ~ if you wish to look.

WHY 'O' WHY do Forumotion INSIST, time after time, on releasing updates that are in BETA format and do not work correctly or are in a poorly thought out format, with no warning to site/forum owners/admins !?? . . . .

Sort the up date out, get it working properly (with an administrators option to turn it off in the ACP), announce a future release day/date, release it . . . and then WATCH & LISTEN to your customers/clients reactions and feedback. Then ACT (positively/proactively) on that feed back . . . be that feedback negative or positive.

It's not working, it's seriously disrupting my forum.  the smilies are so tiny that they are unusable, the PM facility isn't working and the message page keeps jiggling about all over the place and will not scroll properly.

Please restore the old editor as my members are distraught, they can't cope with this.  It is spoiling a much needed forum for them which has worked fine for over 4 years.

Another vote for the option to use the old one. The majority of my forum members use mobile devices during the day and can't do squat now. If it ain't broke, don't "fix" it. At least give the administrators the option to go back to the old board instead of having all of our forum members be VERY unhappy.

I voted YES. Because the question was do I want to be able to choose between the old editor which worked and the new one which is a bug ridden pile of trash. Fix it, otherwise at this rate you will lose your customer base.

severely impaired for forum users who have a basic black background.

including me. I feel aggrieved with the default white color. damage the eyes, because it is too bright.

and if I use the "switch editor mode" display goes bad, since I change the background to be like this.

I hope forumotion give option 2 versions, defaultwhite color and dark color.

    and disable WYSIWYG mode Smile

I do not like this at all! Many of our members probably won't either, it is too small! Any of us over 45 -50 have sight problems and while this may be great for those in their 20-30's it is NOT for the rest of us.

And PLEASE get rid of the "http://" in the URL box in add a link and add a picture. As this is causing a error when copying and pasting a url into the relevant boxes prior to sending. I.E.
    Code:
    http://http://  <===<< url

    becomes the error

    hello,
theire is no way to add a choice between the old and the new editor as they are incompatible. so no need for a suggestions for this.
as usual, if we could give you the choice, you would not even have to ask. if we choose to keep only the new editor that's because it's the only choice we can do.
since years the entire forumotions communitys demanded a new editor and now that you have it and it works better than the old one you want the old editor ... no comment
