Stop Registration?

I know that you can put a forum on holiday, but I don't want to do that.

I just want to stop registration. I want the registered users to be able to post, but just no new members for a short time being. How can I do that?

Administration Panel>>Users and Groups>>Users>> Users Options

Allow new members : [] Yes [X] No
