I think that's not possible.You have no choice but to delete the widget you added to your forum if you want.Well i doesn't really know if that's not possible or possible,doesn't think about it

Admin Panel -> General -> Forum -> Configuration -> Page structure -> forum width
It not work, you can set some background image, and it will be nice
