I hope I've put this in the right section.  I've had a problem with a spammer signing up to my forum and posting HTML code.
I've changed the settings in the Admin Panel to stop them posting external links for 7 days but how can I stop any member from posting HTML code.

    Go to AP>>General>>Messages and e-mails>>Configuration

On that page find "Allow HTML" and select "No" and save your settings.

That was already set as NO.  So I don't know how the spammer is doing it.
should I also set the BBcode to NO ?

Or you can IP ban the person to make it easier.

Setting the BBcode to "no" as well as HTML will prevent anyone from posting pics and other things, your forum will be virtually for text only.

The bbcode settings are not the same as HTML and will not prevent HTML from working, only the HTML setting control that. The person was probably using BBcode. If you disable that and HTML all members can do is post text, but perhaps thats the way you want it.

I've banned 2 in the last 4 days.  I think it's the same spammer.  The latest one didn't have an IP address.

Do you have a confirmation code enabled? It must be a bot who's doing that or something. If you've got the member sign up with a confirmation code or email activation, it'll stop easy registration if the attacker's a bot.

That will be a problem.  forum are able to post photo's and I want it to stay that way.
Is it possible that the HTML "NO" setting is not working properly ?

Runaway, it's very similar to what you have shown but it usually looks like gibberish.

That is BBcode they are using to create the code box, you can only stop that by disabling BBcode. I would suggest if you don't want to disable that along with HTML so your members can to continue to have the ability to post pictures you should direct your attention to banning this member.

That's exactly what I am doing, banning the mothers.  I was hoping there was someway of stopping it completely.
I've changed the setting to no Posts for 7 days, so I guess I will have to wait and see if it stops them.
    Anyway, thanks for the help.
