Registrant Activation Link Not Valid

I have a new registrant that receive an activation link that is not valid
This is the message they receive when they click on the link "The activation key you supplied does not match any in the database." Here's the link

You can active the account here:

Administration Panel > Users & Usergroups > Users > Inactive List

He's not on that list. When I attempted to register him I received a an error message saying that his email was already in use.

He gave me his user name and password and I was able to log in. I wonder if hr had already clicked on the activation link and didn't realize it.

With regards to the inactive list. If I activate the inactive list will they receive an email letting then they are active?

Please do not double post.

They will not receive any notification that you activated their accounts. You can send them an email.

when this happens its a mis-read on the databases end, the account is still activated, and the user(s) should be able to login normally.
