Banner (Score: 10-10)

When I first visit any forum I always check the banner as it usually provides some information about the forum and its nature. Your banner doesn’t disappoint as it tells me straight away that your forums topic is Naruto and its an RPG forum. I’d also like to note, that the font you’ve picked is obviously an excellent choice for your forum given its nature and topic so that’s really well done.
The imaging that is used in the banner is again excellent and the way you’ve opted to design the banner is a fantastic choice as well. The white background of your forum blends well with this transparent banner to really give a nice effect.

Overall your banner is well designed and provides all the necessary information that a banner should and the imaging you’ve picked
compliments the main components of your banner nicely as well as complimenting all other imaging used on your forum. I can’t fault your banner in any way and I am therefore awarding you full marks.

Navigation Bar (Score: 5-5)

The navigation bar is simple yet effective. You’ve kept with the same font used in the banner which is great as it shows consistency and that fact that you’ve decided to avoid putting images in the navigation bar is a good idea as it doesn’t make it over powering.  I also like the added hover effect where it goes bright and glows when you hover over a button.

Overall I don’t have much to say on your navigation bar as it is very simple and effective and I really like how you’ve kept with the same font and style as your other images and text. I can’t fault anything with your navigation bar and I am therefore awarding you full marks.

Post & Forum Icons (Score: 5-5)

Your forum icons are classic Naruto styled which is great and by doing this you help emerge your members in the RPG itself which is great as you want to create an atmosphere for your players to use.  Your post icons are the same, they are Naruto styled which will help your members feel more involved in the role play  and you’ve kept them all the same style which is great but yet you have made them all individual instead of re-using the same images which is fantastic.

Overall your forum and post icons are iconic and fantastic as they are sleek, authentic and truly well designed. I really can’t fault any of your imaging choices and I think you’ve made a good effort in designing your forum and I am therefore going to award you full marks for this section.


Background (Score: 4-5)

I like your very neutral background colours. Starting from the top, the edge black border going down your forum is great, it takes away from what would be a stale square looking theme and turned into something special.  The forum board itself is a fine colour and it compliments your imaging perfectly as well as the text used.

The only noticeable problem you have with the background is this overhanging scroll that you’ve got at the bottom.



I don’t know if it’s a coding issue or an issue with monitor size but I’d suggest checking this out in order to prevent guests seeing this as it isn’t very appealing.

Overall I like the background itself as its neat, professional and stylish but you do need to sort out this scrolling background problem and therefore I am going to give you 4 out of 5 for this section.

Other Forum Images (Score: 5-5)

You’ve got quite a few other images dotted around your forum and the most notable ones would have to be the ones found in the description of each forum, this adds a nice touch to each forum and compliments the other images used on the board nicely.

The image you’ve used in the statistics/legend is well placed and aligns well with all the legends content and the rest of the imaging you’ve used on your forum in the widgets look nice, again all keeping with the Naruto theme.

Overall this isn’t an area where I can fault you for anything as extra imaging is always a bonus on RPG forums and I am therefore giving you full marks.

Theme (Score: 10-10)

(does your forum have a cohesive theme? does it feel like it's drawn together and "whole?")

Your forum is very well kept together and flows very smoothly. One thing I always criticize a forum for having is gaps and you don’t have any gaps on your forum that are too big that prevents a forum from flowing smoothly. Now I bet you’re wondering why I’m not bringing up the massive gap at the bottom, this is likely a coding error or a monitor error as I am browsing on a smallish monitor so this could be the problem so I don’t think criticizing you for this in this section of the review is appropriate. I would however look into finding out how you could fix it if don’t already know as many people will browse your forum on small laptops and devices, so it does need to be fixed.  

In terms of colouring your theme is fairly balanced and you have used many neutral colours so I don’t have much to say on your colour scheme other than that it provides a good balance, yet isn’t bland and is easy on the eyes.

Overall your theme is perfectly fine given the nature of your topic. I like how you’ve used the Naruto font as this gives your theme the extra kick that many members will appreciate.  I am therefore going to award you full marks for this section for the reasons given above.

Forum/Category Layout & Organization (Score: 9-10)

I’ll go through each individual category to make it easy for you to understand:
First Category: I would suggest moving ‘updates’ to below ‘Guidelines and Regulations’ as its generally much more structured to have the most important forums with the most important information at the top. Otherwise everything is fine.

Second Category:  Everything is fine in this category, I have no recommendations.

Third Category: Again all is organised and I don’t have any suggestions.

Fourth Category: Again all is organised but you might want to consider moving the suggestions section up to above Introductions as it seems like an important part of your forum but this move isn’t really something that needs to be done, more so a light suggestion.

Fifth Category:  It’s the archives and therefore everything is fine

In conclusion, all of your categories are in order except in number one, I’d strongly advise moving that to where I suggested and I am therefore going to award you 9 out of 10 for this section.
