Limit usernames characters

I would like to ask help , I wanna limit the Usernames char to 10 only. And is it possible to remove the special characters? Thanks

No it is not possible to increase/decrease the limit, even for guests. It might possible via JavaScript. However, if someone else will like to provide a code for this, then that will be their choice. But, as for now it isn't possible.

Sadly stand alone characters can't be eliminated. However you can eliminate words.

Your best bet would be to use the username censoring feature as stated in the above post. This will prevent anyone registering with a certain character in their username.

Just to add to what's already said, the username censoring does require you to enter a minimum of 3 characters. So you couldn't enter a stand alone character.

If you would like to censor one particular character, simply use wildcards ( * symbol )

For example, if the letter "a" was the character you wanted to censor, you could enter:

*a*

...into the field.

Well the only thing you can do is what Base suggested and go through filtering each individual symbol.
