    Solved Post box issue

    Post by alfa27 December 4th 2013, 6:21 pm

The post box on my forum is just a white box now, smileys to the right are gone and the options at the top are also gone.

If you preview it you get the options back but that is annoying.

Any idea how to get them all back on the first page.

    Hello

For color go in administration panel -> Display -> colors & pictures -> colors

Find, on the end of background colors, editor background color, and change it.

For smyles, what is your forum version, and can you give us screenshot of that?

    Hi,

Can I ask, just as a formality. Have you edited the templates in your forum recently or added any coding such as HTML or Javascript? that might have had something to do with editor?

If so then this could be what is causing the problem.

    Hello,
First of all, try to disable your templates. If there's not any change, enable them.
Try to disable your javascript codes. If nothing changes, enable them.
Disable your announcements. If nothing changes, enable them again.
Make a .txt file on your desktop and save your CSS Stylesheet. After that, delete your css stylesheet and tell us if anything changes. By the way, after that you should add your CSS back to your forum. Wink
    Thanks!

Stupid question I'm sure but how do I disable it? (do i delete it or just un-check the placement)

With no placement selected, the problem is still there with JavaScript management enabled.

Can we just leave JavaScript management disabled, as everything seems to be working just fine now?

Yes, sure you can. To disable a javascript you have to uncheck all boxes. Very Happy
If you need these javascript codes, try to disable one'n'one until you'll find the javascript that kills your post box.

Ā Ok I went through them individually and when I disable this javascript it fixes the issue. As i'm sure you've guessed i'm pretty new to this so what effect will it have if I leave this javascript disabled? (Everything appears to be working fine?)

I think nothing bad. If this code makes your board running bad, let it disabled. Wink

Ok I changed the javascript code for the post numbering using a code I found by searching old topics (different to the code above).

This appears to have solved the problem.

Thanks again for your helpĀ thumleftĀ
