Contact Field for Google+

So I am in my Administrator page.  Under "Users & Groups", I click on 'PROFILES' and then 'CONTACT FIELDS'.  
I notice there isn't one there for Google+.  I tried adding  a new contact field for Google+ but it did not work.  First it only lets me select "Contact" as the type of field... 

Can a proper field for Google+ be added?  I know it's not as popular as Facebook but still, a lot of people use it... a lot more than people who use AIM (American Online instant messaging) and that field is still there...

You actually want to create the field as a "Contact". If you want to change the actual form of it, just change that in the "Contact" section below the creation page. Here are a few images to show you. You just need to create a new contact field and when you click on the part I have marked below, you should be able to change it to what you want. Check the 2 pictures for more a preview!

But Google+ is not on that list.  Only Google Talk... When I chose that, it didn't change the contact above....

It won't change the contact part above. That one won't change at all, that is just a default setting.
Google talk might work as google+

Have you tried it?  It doesn't work for me.  I put in my google plus url when I go to edit the contact info on my profile and it doesn't show up, like facebook or pinterest or twitter...

See, it would be nice if my Google+ profile button showed between Facebook and Pinterest, but there is no way to do that at this time....   

That may be because there isn't a set button for G+ in the images. The system can't add an image out of nowhere if there is no image in the first place.

Are you entering the whole URL for your Google + account?  I believe you only have to use a short version, like Facebook.

Sorry about that.  I did use the short version.  It does not work.
