recovering deleted user

Hello! Recently a member on my forum wanted to change their name on the forum so they deleted their account and made a new one with their new name. All of the posts they had made now say it was posted by a guest. I've tried to edit those posts to their new name but it says that name is already taken. The user has not made any new posts with their account yet, is there any way I can recover that user or change the posts they made from "Guest" to their new name?

Thanks! Will this delete any posts that were made after the name change?

From what I have tested, no it will not. It should preserve those posts.
