We're branching out, yadda yadda yadda, so I've tried to add some contact fields in User Profiles. I've added them under a web address type.

However when I go to actually add the contact field to my profile, when I click Save the field is reset and doesn't appear.

How do I fix this?

Assuming you set this up under the "Contact fields" tab make sure you have the box ticked next to "Who can modify the profile field value ?" set to "Member himself".

Yep they're all set to "Moderators" and "Member himself"

So you're saying that when you add an address to the field in your profile it doesn't save?

Yes when I enter the details and click Save, it says "Your profile has been updated" but the details aren't there when I go back to the profile or when I post.

When you say that you "enter the details" you mean copy and paste the URL of a page address, correct? The only details a web address type contact field will accept are a URL page address.

Is there a way to create a field similar to the Facebook or Twitter ones? Where you enter your account name and it takes you to your profile when you click the icon?

Just so you know you can add an icon to the field you just created so when clicked it will take them to the site.

Your question about fields similar to FB and twitter where you only need to add the account name the answer is no, those fields cannot be reproduced to function the same way. Any contact fields you create the entire URL to the page will need to be added into the field.

Yeah I've got a load of custom icons too to go with our theme.
