I have now tried everything APE has suggested... twice. And I am still facing the same issue I was yesterday with slow loading, chatbox gone, and messed up reply boxes. And once again only facing the problem in chrome. I also got to test it on another home computer and it ran fine in chrome on there so its just this one browser and on my laptop... Which is annoying but now I just kind of believe it to be a problem on my end. Because why only not work in one browser... on one computer. I'm about a hair away from uninstalling then reinstalling chrome.

EDIT: Went ahead and reinstalled. No effect. Also the problem has reappeared in IE, but everything still loads fine in firefox... :/

Pro Admin Forum slow or inaccessible

    Post by RobertSF Fri 10 Jan 2014 - 7:55

    The forum is openhearts.forumotion.com.
    The ISP is pacbell.net -> att.net

I just created it a few days ago and managed to convince my guild mates in this online game we play that a forum will be useful to exchange tips and help each other.

Now I'm getting long looks because people can't register, can't log in, can't load pages, or it takes multiple clicks to get through, or they just can't get through at all.

And one moment it's fine, and then it's back to being slow or just not responding.

It's not a matter of browsers or deleting cookies or anything like that. People are trying to access it from around the US, from the UK, and even from Malaysia. They're all having problems, and it can't be that they all need to empty their browser caches.

I'm looking bad here, and Forumotion doesn't even seem to be acknowledging that something's wrong. I'm really disappointed because Forumotion is one of the largest forum hosts.  Sad

It's not you Selvester. This problem is definitely at the other end. Also, the problems comes and goes, so that's why the problem reappeared in IE. If you keep trying with Firefox, when the problem returns, it will also not work with Firefox.

So don't go crazy! It's not you.  Very good

Well, if it means anything, not long after writing my reply, I did clear my browser of stuff that happened in the last week. I was able to log back into mine. Figured that was the reason though it did not make sense because I had logged in a couple of hours before. So I had every reason to think the Devs were tinkering with something that none of us were aware of.

In any case, I have not experienced any problems since. Even today it was working. After reading some of your posts, may I suggest that you run antivirus scans just in case some sort of adware/ malware is messing with your browser. Also, I noticed that The Godfather posted some new HTML updates. Perhaps, this may explain the inconvenience some have experienced. Could those who modified their templates may have it worse than those who haven't changed a thing? I'm among them whose forums have not been modified.

    Day 3,

Tried what Ape stated, reset modem, and looked for updates but there were not any. SLGray states they accessed my forum in less than 2sec. but not so from my end as it takes min. and then some to navigate when in.

Have contacted Buttercup and dropped my IP and Google search address for the forum,

Our forum t-a-c.actionboard.net was loading really slow for me (UK, ISP: Plus.net), page loads were taking several minutes.

Initially I used this dirty trick to disable any references to illiweb.com by adding this to my local hosts file (C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts):

    127.0.0.1 illiweb.com

I don't recommend it as a permanent thing as it effectively spoils some of the style of the forum but it did allow me to at least read our forum before I searched and found this thread.  I've removed it again now as an "ipconfig /flushdns" seems to have improved things a lot.

Unfortunately, Captain Hunk, it doesn't mean anything. It just means that whatever routing issue there was from the forum to your computer was cleared up, perhaps permanently but perhaps temporarily. That has nothing to do with what's in your browser.

It can't be you or something at your end, not when this many people are affected.

Right now, in a chat, I have my members screaming at me because they can't load the forum. I can load it find. It responds instantly, but they can't.

I know Forumotion is one of or even the biggest forum provider, but if this doesn't clear up in a couple of days, I'm moving. I just can't afford to have all my members upset.

I agree it can't be at the users' end, not this many people with the same problem, and all at the same time. I was fine earlier today(just a few hours ago) and can't get on now. This seems to be the same problem that we had a couple of days ago:

    URL: http://asjbuckshot.forumotion.com/

    ISP: Verizon FiOS

I have no problems on other sites; only forumotion forums

I'm OK now. I have to take back what I wrote. I tried what S-t-e-v-e- suggested and it worked! Thank you!!
I cleared my browser history before I tried that and clearing the history didn't work.
