Forum migration to forumotion from another host?

Hope this is in an appropriate section.

A friend of mine has a forum hosted with another provider/host, but is interested in migrating over here to Forumotion.  His current provider will bundle up all his forum data for a fee.  Would it be possible for him to accomplish this process easily enough?  Is there a process for this explained somewhere?  I couldn't find an answer searching the support forums.

FYI the other forum host uses PHPBB as well, so there shouldn't be compatibility issues.

Sorry, no migration can be made via a service on Forumotion. Databases as well as codings which Forumotion sets up are not compatible with original Phpbb. He can however lock his former forum in maintenance and so create a forum via the platform Forumotion.

Thank you for your quick response.  One question as follow up, when you say incompatible with the original phpBB, do you refer to version 1?  Because his current forum is running on phpBB 2 which is an option here on Forumotion.

If you mean that Forumotion is running an incompatible, modified version of phpBB 2, then the problem is obvious.

Of course his preference would be to migrate rather than shut down and move which would mean loss of accumulated content and would require all members to re-register at a new host.

Hello, The forum in question is already accommodated on Forumotion. If it is not the case and what he uses a phpbb version 2.0. X see Phpbb 3.0. X it is not possible if the forum was not to create via the platform Forumotion. Another another solution, if you speak of transferring from a forum Forumotion to an other one this is not still possible for the moment. This question returned repeatedly has some time on French Forumotion there. Well begin of day. Kaya

If a forum was created on another host then migration from that host to FM is not available.
