    Hello S-t-e-v-e-,

    That is part of the FYM avatar creation. Clicking the image will allow your users to create their own avatar, it is not an ad, but an informative image. If you do not want to use the FYM avatar creation, then that is completely your choice.

    Please see the following option :
    Administration Panel > Display > Avatars > Avatars management

    Under 'Avatars generator (Bêta)' you'll see an option, tick 'no' for it and save to disable the avatar creation for your forum and members.

    it's shocking that forumotion would add this without asking the people who as paid to remove rubbish off our forum!!
