    Solved Username Unknown: member cannot retreive it or register.

    1. My forum is: http://richardiiinetwork.forumotion.com/

    2. Someone tried to register for this forum using the email address [email address deleted]. She said she got to the screen where you enter the secret code and then was told her user name was unavailable.

    3. This email address is not showing in my list of members.

    4. She does not know if she used the username kadin, chatelaine, or something else. She is certain she used the email [email address deleted].

    5. When she requests her password be sent to this email address using "kadin" or "chatelaine,"the error message comes back: The e-mail address you supplied does not match the one listed for that username.   She does not want to use another email address: she wants to use [email address deleted].

    6. She cannot change the username associated with [email address deleted] and neither can I.

    7. Could you please let me know or let her know how to resolve this? Thanks.

    Hi,

    I believe the reason she got this error message when signing up could be the Forumotion spam filter.

    You can disable this by going to ACP --> Security --> Disallow registration with commonly used spam names (its something like that) --> Click No --> Save

    The reason why you see no record of her email address is because she isn't registered, like you said she got to the page where the secret code is and it told her she can't use that username.

    Also please don't post email address in public places. Could you please remove them. I've also contacted a support moderator who'll remove them. However if you read this first please remove them.

    I've done as you asked and removed the email address. I've done what you recommended re: "security". I'll report back if this works or not.

    The user did as you suggested -- no joy. The error message when she attempts to use the email address the system should not know:

    Sorry, but that e-mail address is already registered by another user. 

    So apparently her email address is in use/registered?

    There doesn't seem to be a system feature whereby she can request that the username be sent to the email address. Please help? Thanks.

    Administration Panel > Users & Usergroups > Users > Inactive List
