How to get rid of "Forumotion (Search bar) Share:" at the top of my homepage?

Hey, there's a forumotion logo and search engine and share icons, how do I get rid of them?

If you mean the tool, you can disable it here:
AP > Modules > Toolbar(Configuration):
Activate the toolbar : Set it to No
> Save

If I understand you correctly then you'll want to go here:

ACP --> Display Structures and hierarchy --> Split categories on index --> Medium

When you're on the home tab. You should see something above what looks like a notepad/flip book the button 'Advanced' click that then follow the above steps.

It works, but I don't really like it, it allows you to post in "General", not any of the sub forums, how do I get rid of posting in that? And say I made a forum named "General", it would name the top General and put another General section. It's confusing.
