    Hello Tim Fortner,

If the CAPTCHA is causing difficulties for new members you can disable it at registration here :
Administration Panel > Users and Groups > User Options

    Registration Captur31

Set 'Conformation code' to 'no' and save. Note : This will increase your chances that spam bots may register to your forum.

Also you can check inactive accounts and activate them if needed here :
Administration Panel > Users and Groups > Inactive Users

Just to add something here if the system says the name is in-use this could be down to the security system we have inplace.

    ACP >> General Tab >>
Registration Configuration Forum >> Security >> 7th setting down >> Unauthorize subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam usernames. : if set to YES this will stop almost all short names and make the system say the name is being used by some one already even when it's not.
if you set it to NO then any name can be used. What i say is to set it to YES and get the member to make a longer name then change it for them once there in the forum.
