I have been been experiencing the connection problem as well over the past couple days, and have received complaints from members. It's not completely consistent for me. I find that if I refresh when it gets stuck on the "white page of suffering", it will sometimes load and be fine for a while. I can't tell if emptying the cache helps or not. Hopefully this can be resolved soon!

    Hello,

I have been experiencing the exact same problem as above - for 2 days now (the illiweb long wait - and very, very slow whenever I click on anything once I do get logged in).

    http://krazykats.forumotion.co.uk

Also the 'Latest topics' module in my side panel has stopped scrolling.  The posts are showing but not moving (they normally should scroll upwards).

This is happening on my Windows 8 computer only.

On my other computer with Windows 7 - there is no problem.  Get in very quickly and the scrolling is working as normal.

Everything is up to date on both computers - and I have tried everything.

I have put a scrolling announcement across the top of the forum explaining to members and apologising for the inconvenience:  On Windows 7 computer I can see this scrolling announcement - but on Windows 8 comp the announcement does not show at all!

If I had only the computer with Windows 7, I would think it was solved - but obviously the problem is with Windows 8.

I use Firefox - but have tried on other browsers.  No difference.

Oh - and the version is 'Invision'.

By the way - many thanks to all the very helpful people on the Support forum - both staff and other posting admins for all their useful tips.
I think you do a fabulous job of support.  salut

I have never had a problem (until now) with any of my Forumotion hosted forums - this is the first time ever in all the years I have been with Forumotion.  thumright

it would be nice if you can inform forum admins about maintenance, so that we can post announcements on our forums.
This would stop a lot of frustration and wasted time for both admins and forum members.

The problem has still not been solved.

"waiting for illiweb.com" seems to be the common problem.

Did someone forget to switch something back on after the maintenance?  Wink It is so frustrating to have to wait so long not just to access our forum, but to also get the dreaded white screen for absolutely everything we do on them. trying to enter a required forum, then a topic, then posting etc. I am actually typing this whilst I wait & wait.

It is especially hard to be patient when used to having everything normally, occuring almost instantaneously. Do hope it can be fixed very soon as it isn't usual for Forumotion to have such problems

My OS is Windows 8.1 & browser is Chrome version 37.0.2062.3 dev-m (64-bit).

This has been requested before parbrook, and fallen on deaf ears  Mad

As with other founder/administrators above, this has not been solved. Windows 8 & 8.1 users are experiencing excessively long loading times.
Sure you "could" inform those forum members on windows 8 and 8.1 to change browser to Google Chrome or Firefox etc. , but you see they are having problems logging on and when they have they are getting hourglass egg timer delays navigating from page to page.

Please, as parbrook requests above, PRE WARN your user Founder/Administrators of these "Server Maintenances" so we can inform our users . . . . It will prevent most of this heartache, frustration and time wasting in the future.

It is not just Windows 8/8.1 systems that are affected.

I am experiencing the illiweb.com delay on two Windows 7 PCs with Firefox and my Blackberry Tablet.

It is really not helpful for Forumotion support telling us that they do not have a problem so it must be fixed when so many forum admins are reporting the same problem.

It does no appear to be a forum problem per-se.
There is a delayed connection with illiweb.com

Maybe you are closer to the illiweb server?

Ah, now - there you have it .....!
You may not an issue - but I have just tried to access your site from my Windows 8 laptop and I am having the exact same problem with "waiting for illiweb"

    whereas,

I tried it on my Windows 7 laptop and there is no problem whatsoever.

So ... it could well be that some of your members might be experiencing the same; you're just not hearing any complaints because they've probably given up trying to log in.  They can't post a complaint if they can't get in in the first place.

It is now early Monday morning here in east coast Australia & both of my forums (one is a test forum) are still experiencing this problem.

    Device used:- PC

    Computer OS:- Windows 8.1

    Browser:- Chrome (latest version)

    Forum Link:-  My Forum

Edit PS 4 & 1/2 hours after my original post my forum appears to be back to normal after having taken minutes to load each page & action just 15 mins previously. Whatever has happened I thank you very much. The time wasting trying to access & use my forum was really getting to me.  Very Happy

Yes  I have some of the same issues in getting forums to load and they are really slow. What is the problem now ? Are you updating ?I failed to mention it gets stuck on illiweb and when I do get in sometimes in posting I have to sit and wait through tinypic as well. But clearing cookies, rebooting doesn't help. When I come on in the morning my first place I go to is BAS forum Bag A Snag. That is where I get stuck on the above mentioned.

Ahh... Was experiencing this same issue and thought it was just me as around the same time my computer suffered some sort of major spam attack (I certainly hope that was unrelated to this...) and it started after that. However I cleared up the spam issue only to discover that my forums loading takes forever. This has been going on for a few days and I assumed it was a maintenance thing but when it continued to persist I thought I would check here. And I am rather relieved to see I am not the only one having troubles here!

    Device Used: PC
    Computer O/S: Window's 8
    Browser: Chrome & FireFox
Forum Link: Take your pick. This is on all forums for me except the help site here.
If you do require a specific example though, the forum I just came from was my testing site found here.

So it appears this is a window's 8 related problem possibly? I am the only one I know of so far who has come across this, the other regular and consistent member has a mac and has experienced no problems. I am yet to hear from other members but if they are facing issues, honestly they would probably give up on waiting after the first minute. I don't think they have windows 8 anyway. I also thought I should note that like others have said already, the page seems to get hung up on illiweb.

    Hello,

The problem doesn't seem to occur on the French service, it seem more of an isolated problem with the English service, I will re-forward this issue to our admins, hopefully we can get an answer soon.

These issues are with Windows 8 only (everything is fine using Windows 7)
Slow on loading - white page and waiting for illiweb
Once logged in eventually - extremely slow on every action
Also 'Latest Topics' module not scrolling upwards (although scrolling ok with Windows 7)
Scrolling announcement at top of board does not show at all in Windows 8 (does show with Windows 7)
One other member so far reported same problems. They are also using Windows 8

I don't know if the admins have actually done anything yet but my forums appear to be running perfectly fine this morning! Came up right away! And the chatbox is back too. I forgot to report it in the last post but the chatbox was left white in connection to this problem. But fixed now. (:
