Hi all, I am a member of a forumotion forum which has been active for 3 or four years now. The trouble is the Admin has gone AWOL. I've tried phoning (number inactive) emailing and PM'ing him without success. I have read elsewhere on this site that if Admin fails to log in for 6months and 1 day someone else can apply to take over as admin for the site. All the site team have gone also and a few of the remaining members and I have been trying to revive the site.
Someone did post as Admin last week, posted a meeting in Finland (?) and disappeared again. I tried to contact on the email given and  PM'ing Admin again but no response again.
We are left to our own devices and the site is ticking along but we really would like some way of personalising and promoting use.
Is there a governing body who can, if no response is given by the original admin, transfer the rights to those interested in using the site?

Those are your options to make claim to the founder account. However it might be the case that because an admin has logged in recently then it could prevent you from getting access to the founder account.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes, Admin has posted on 6th July 2014 but only an announcement. I don't understand because he hadn't been on since March 2013 and hasn't administered anything else since 2012!
Best I can hope for then is that either he makes a proper appearance or doesn't appear again for another 6 months. Thi profile states 'last visit ''unknown''.

You will have to wait until the founder (administrator) is gone for 6 months and 1 day to try to transfer the founder account to you.  The founder is the member you has the u1 as his/hers user ID.  At this to the link of the forum /u1.  Now if the founder has it set in his/hers profile to be hidden then you will not be able to determine the last time he/she logged in by the profile.
