My friend was always able to join my forums. He's even forum staff, but now he said he cannot open the website at all. Everyone else however, can. But, it's only this single forumotion website, other forumotion websites he can open.

Does it show any error messages white/black screen?

It shows a blank screen with "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding." He tried it on other browsers too but it didn't work.

The proxy site worked, but any idea on how to make this work on a normal browser?

Is this user's IP Address banned from your forum ?

Administration Panel > Users and groups > Ban control > Ban an IP address

He is not banned sir.

As this member tried using different devices?

there can be several solutions.

i have friends with same issue. hes an under age and reason he cant join mine website is because his dad has parental control on that blocks the website automaticly. this could be an source if your friend is under age or is not using an administrator user on his pc.

a different reason is that he have bad connection so hes unable to view the forums.\

another one can be that his firewall/antivirus has "detected" something that might not be a virus but the program somehow detects it as virus and compleatly block it automaticly.

most likely this is not a fault by you. but theres something with his pc that make it so he cant view the website.

he might aswell try to use: chrome, mozilla, opera, firefox, explorer, dragon enginge.

if the problem is still there tell him to use steam, go into a game turn on the web browser in game through steam and see if he can enter via that one.

if its parental control, in most cases steam let him through.

also his router can also be restricted to some web pages too. dependson the settings and what the owner has set it to. 

also tell him to check if he have whitelisted your website so its not blocked under the internet security.-

i was also thinking it could be some issues with the NAT type that prevented him entering. but this should normally not be an issue. honestly i never heard about such issue on pc to websites before. only concoles xDD

Firewall isn't the issue, nor is parental control.

It does sound like an issue with his Internet connection when he tries to open the forum.  Ask him to clear his browser's cache and history.  Also delete the forum cookies.

He can go onto any forumotion forums, just not this one.

He tried that. No luck.

I made some tests on your forum and all seem to work properly. The problem is not coming from our service but from your member.

Try:
Safari by simply going to Settings → scroll down to Safari → in Safari settings, I selected both Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
