    Pro Admin Adfly problem

Post by Donken August 29th 2014, 8:54 am

Just made a new forum, got some 60 members.
And for some reason, when we started to put links in the posts it have started to redirect to adfly (wait 5 second thingy)
    It is quite annoying!

Where is this coming from? Malware? Or do we need to pay forumotion to get rid of it?
Most of the links are to 4shared thou. Do we need a subscription to 4shared?

I also do see some mention about forumotions ToS, how do we know if we are breaking it? Can someone check that aswell? Very Happy

To see if you get a report, you'll get a notification from ForuMotion saying there is a reported abuse.

Also, what kind of links are you guy sending?

It is for our own made mods to a game mostly. So its just a regular 4shared link.

Are these links mirrored through Adfly?

No, i dont think so. If i go to my 4shared account for example, copy link to the file (no adfly added to the link name), add it to the forum. Post it. All looks correct. no adfly mention there.

But when i click the links they go to adfly. So none of us on the forum adds adfly at all. It adds it by itself for some reason.

I received no Adfly issue with the link you sent me on the forums. I had to download with my social media account and them wait 20 seconds for the download.

Thats the problem, it adds an adfly as soon as its linked directly from the forum. If you go to the forum and click the links it goes to adfly. i will send one of those links!

Looks like 4shared is blacklisted! So we need to use another filesharing service =)

It still redirects users to adfly if we use 4shared.

So we are thinking about using something else instead. But best would be to figure this one out!

It does not normally for popular hosting sites like Mediafire.

I believe Buttercup believes it is about his account, but it is about posting links to downloads.

Exactly! All our download links from 4shared adds adfly to it for some reason =)

you need to remove them links from your forum or there is nothing we can do as it is found to be spam on your forum and hits our spam filter.

It is not consider spam.  Forumotion added this awhile back as a way to earn money.  Most popular hosting sites, like Mediafire, will have the adfly ads.

All you have to do is wait five seconds and press the skip ad button.
