Is it possible to change the moderator tools so they can only lock a thread or move a thread, not delete, split or combine.

I dont want any moderators to be able to delete threads or posts

Sorry you cannot do this as the moderation permissions do not work like this.

The moderators either have access to all the tools or not. You could always instruct your moderators to not delete any topics or posts.

I have set the permissions on my forums so that moderators cannot delete threads. Only Admins can delete threads.

This is done through the forum configuration menu in the Admin panel - just untick the box that says 'delete' on each and every forum you have via the permissions tab.

I also keep all staff in a 'staff usergroup' so that I can tweak their permissions even further.
