In progress Should Forum Staff Credit Members for the ideas that they used!?

    Post by RightOn Thu 4 Sep 2014 - 18:23

I am new to using forumotion's actual forum so please forgive me if I put this in the wrong place. I am currently dealing with an issue on a forum I am on and I actually reported them twice already for it. Recently I asked the staff if they could credit the members who ideas they use throughout the forum. And this is what one of the moderators said:
the ideas are for the forum therefore they're ours since the forum belongs to us.
They basically told me that they do not need to credit the users and are trying to justify why they don't need to. I am very upset by this comment and I even reported them for this but nothing has been done. And I can't speak out against them because they will warn me or ban me about it. What should I do?

Do you mean that they are posting copyrighted material on the forum?

    Have you sent a litigation report - https://help.forumotion.com/t12330-complaint-against-a-forum-how-to ?

No, they are saying that they do not have to credit the members for their ideas that they use on the forum which is not right. They are saying that they own our ideas that we give them and I have already filed a report but nothing has been done.

    Hello,

As stated above by APE, there is nothing we can do since this appears to be more of a moral issue rather than a legal issue. As long as a forum is not breaking our terms of service, then no action will be taken.

Of course, we understand that this must cause a lot of distress to you and members but the moderators / administrators of the forum in question make the final decisions.
