    Solved Forumotion link redirecting to domain

    Post by Apex September 10th 2014, 11:33

    I was wondering if there was any way to make it so if a user types in the forumlink.forumotion.com it redirects to a domain name that you have purchased? I know that you can make it so typing in a domainname.com will direct to the forum and mask the forumotion link but yeah, would be nice if there was a way to make the forumotion link redirect to the domain name and mask it.

    You could do this in messages and topics.

    For bbcode:

    Code:
    [url=PAID-FORUM-LINK]Your-Forumotion-Forum-Link[/url]

    For HTML:

    Code:
    <a href="PAID-FORUM-LINK">Your-Forumotion-Forum-Link</a>

    Replace PAID-FORUM-LINK with the URL of the domain name without .forumotion in it.
    Replace Your-Forumotion-Forum-Link with the URL of your forum with the .forumotion sub domain.

    Also, users can access your forum with both URL's.

    If you bought your domain name through forumotion you can go: ACP --> General --> Forum Address --> Personalized Domain Name --> Force URL Redirection

    Alright cool I'm looking into it now. This is just for near-future purposes. I am thinking of purchasing a domain name through forumotion but I can't seem to find a price list anywhere. I sent in an order via the admin CP to check it out for now

    AP > Misc. > Credits Management > Spend Credits > Domain Name
    It should show the price.

    It did not show the price just sent in some possible order without any price listing. I've been waiting for some type of e-mail perhaps with a price listing. I stumbled upon a post on this forum saying something around 1,500 credits.

    I believe that correct:  1,500 or 1,600.
