Automatic rank

Is there a way in which people can get their ranks automatically when they join a group?

Only if the group is based on the number of posts you have.

Can you please elaborate on that? How would I be able to do such a thing then?

Administration Panel > Users & Usergroups > Ranks
Create a new one or modify an old one.
Set as Special Rank:  No
Minimum Posts:  Enter a Number

If you wish to know how to do this, here are the simple steps on how to create an automatic rank.

1. Access your ACP
2. Click the Users & Groups Tab
3. Click "Rank Administration"
4. Click "Add New Rank"
5. Give the Rank a name / title
6. Set the Special Rank as "No"
7. Set the Minimum Posts count to what you would like. (Example Below)
8. Add Rank Image URL (Optional)
9. Click Save
10. Repeat as many times as you would like!
