Download link change

Hope this is the right place to post my query. I need to change any download links on my site to reflect [show] the word ie  "Click Here to Download" or similar instead of the the original download link showing. Can this be done & if so where do I place the code [script]

May I ask for a bit more details? Are you simply trying to change the text of the link such as "Download Link" to say "Click here to download" but have the same link? If so, this can be done simply through bbcode / HTML editing. If this is what you are looking for, see below for how to do that. Do you mean on pictures? If you do... just put the word in the description spot! What you put in the description instead of the boring link!

What I am trying to do is for example is a  link I have added below

is make the link so as when people view it they will see the word ie Download Here [not the actual 1ficher link] & when they click the word Download Here it will actually download from the link.
 I guess what I am trying to do is change the link similar to above above & replace it with the words "Download Here' which will be clickable to download a file

You will need a direct download link or a script to do something like this. A script like this would have to be coded and placed into the Javascript portion of your forum.

jadster, I have no problems about changing the links to direct download links as they will be my own uploads.
Its all new to me so we shall wait & see what happens. Someone might come up with something

                  Nope doesn't seem to work when I added it to my CSS in display but then again I could be doing it all wrong

Take a look on my test page. It works perfect for me  rmb to remove /? after your mediafire.com link

Want more hosting link? Just repeat this line with a semi-colon

                      I did say I was new to this didn't I??
Yours test is exactly the way I want mine but with 1fichier.com instead of MediaFire. Anyway please correct me if I am putting the script in the wrong place

Actually, I don't like that hosting. Dropbox or Google Drive are better :3
