Ideas for Points?

So forumotion has a pretty good in built point system for their forums.

However up till now I have found no real use for it. No incentives to make members care for it. I was thinking about a points shop, but that is not possible.

So any ideas? If you are using the points function, please share how you are using it.

Some forums use it as a way for members to personalize their profiles. Here's some examples :

• Buy a certain profile field item
  
• Personalized username ( e.g. color, glow, icons )
  
• Username change
  
• Warning reversal
