    I actually like to have a recent topics bar on the side of my forum. Is it possible? I've been searching how but I cant find it

    If you mean the widget, go to your Administration Panel => Modules => Portal & Widgets => Forum widgets management

    There you can add the "Latest Topics" widget. Make sure to adjust the row sizes there as well to your desire.
