USING QUOTE BUTTONS , NOT LIKE OTHER FORUMS

I  HAVE TRIED EVERY WAY THAT I CAN THINK OF ( WHICH ISN'T MUCH ). TO APPLY THE QUOTE BUTTONS BOTH HERE IN SUPPORT AND IN MY FORUM . THE PROCEDURE THAT I USED AND KNOW FROM OTHER FORUMS IS, CLICK REPLY IN THE POST OF THE POST YOU WANT TO QUOTE FROM . THEN ABOVE MY EDIT OR MESSAGE PAGE , IS THE POST THAT I WANT TO QUOTE SOME OF OR ALL OF . THEN I HIGHLIGHT THE AREA TO BE QUOTED . THEN CLICK QUOTE IN THAT SAME QUOTED BOX . THAT PUTS THE DESIRED QUOTE IN MY MESSAGE BOX AND I CONTINUE . THAT DOESN'T WORK HERE .

Below are some variables you can modify in the script.

What is value # =  phpBB ?

Your forum version is either PHPBB2 or PHPBB3

You can check by going to ACP --> Display --> Choose a theme --> Version

You'll see your forum version.

You see confusing us about what you are asking.

You either have phpBB 2 or 3.

Unintentional confusion . Been trying to shake it for 55 years . Have made a lot of progress . Probably only inside of 15 years remaining .

What's your forum version then?

His forum version is phpbb3.

I am doing 9 things at a time right now . I tried 10 but the migrane was unbearable . Although I am considerately replying in a timely manner .I have only had time ( barely ) to copy and paste your responses . Are you questioning my ability to navigate enough to even follow your directions ? It sure sounds like that to me . Anyway . In answer to your question . "What she said " . Good answer . Thank you .

Wow . You don't ask much . Considering that at 6:16 PM I replied SOLVED for the 2nd time . I think you might have made your point that I don't know what I am talking about . At this point I think I was looking for a chat code when I came across that request . Now since you have answered a couple other things for me I am done with that . I could look it up but I don't have time .
