Spam through pm

What's up? Its been a while. Anyway I need to ask you one question. One academy (not sure should I name it) advertises itself through pm spamming on other acadamies. So, they make account on certain academy and then send pm to all users on that academy about their academy, their events etc. etc. at the end of pm there is academie's link. They are doing that to all active forumotion academies and many people are complaining about it, so I decided as owner of one academy that has same problem to report it. They are not even affiliated with academies they spam.
So I want to know are there any sanctions about it because I think that is really not fair. Are there even sanctions for that, and if yes, what is the biggest one they can get.
If you need any evidence I can get it quite easly, and I've got many witnesses.

sorry but fights,wars,arguments ...w/e the issue is between two sites no one here will get involved in it .. the most you can do is report there site if they are breaking forumotions TOS

there are some ways to prevent them from spamming so much

goto acp>general>security

Unauthorize members with less than a week registration to post external links and emails : Yes

Flood control. Delay between 2 messages, topics or private messages by a user.: set it to like 2 or 3 mins they are not gonna want to wait 3 min per each user to send a msg take 30 mins to msg 10 users

IP address accounts creation limit, for each 24 hours : 1

SAVE/Submit


then goto acp>general>message and emails>private messages

Minimum posts before sending private messages : set this to like 5

Save/submit

Thanks for the update. But what they really did is use the CONTACT FORM. Switch it off.

ACP >> General >> Messages and E-mails >> E-mails and contact form
On the right side, now turn Contact Form, Activate : NO and hit SAVE. That's it.

with or without the contact forum you can still goto create a new pm

the permissions are probably set wrong ill pm 1 of the mods because im having the same issue

Please start a new topic for issues that are not related.

Them posts are moved there by the Manager's
you can not post there until the staff move your post there.

No need to pm a staff member the settings are right

yea i was editing my post when you posted that ape i didnt notice it was in promo section
