Header colors problem..?

Hello!!

So, I was working on getting the header to change colors so that I could add a logo and work on the design... But when I tried to change the color of it, this  happened

Half is white (as I changed it white) but the other half stayed blue, with a "fade affect" to a darker blue. I definitely want the fade gone, or at least how to figure out how to get it to fade from white to another color.

Could anyone tell me where and how to do that?
