    Solved How do you remove Shadow Topics?

    First topic message reminder :

    I have been trying to figure out how I can remove some Shadow Topics on my forum but nothing I tried seems to work. I tried moving the shadow topic into the original and I tried to see if it leaves after posting in the topic but it's still there.

    Oh, so the topic starter has to be one who clicks it.

    I don't think they go away after 3 days because one has been moved when the last post was made on Feb 18th according to the last post update on the Shadow Topic. There have been over 15 posts since then, so does that mean that the Shadow Topic has been here since Feb 18?

    I have Just ran a test on one of the moved posts in my forum that i made 3 weeks a go and i have the same problem, It should have been gone by now and i have made a post and it still remains so i think this could be a bug i will report it now and see what @ Buttercup says.

    Hello @Ape

    I must agree with you, this seems to be a bug.. actually the shadow topics should be removed within 24 hours (technicians said) Wink

    But I have the same issue with a topic that is still there after weeks and weeks :rose:

    Hello,

    Normally you shadow topic should be removed whitin 48hrs...

    Could you please provide the following information?
    - How long your shadow topics stay on the original section?
    - Did you synchronize the forum? If not, could you please test?
    - Could you please provide some screenshots?

    - It's seemingly random, I just had a few topics disappear after a month has gone by.
    - Yep, I resync'd my forum.
    - Here are some screenshots of the ones that I know are left on the forum. I apologize for the quality, I had to screenshot from my phone. But you should still be able to make out the dates being Feb 18th and Feb 1st.

    I should add that all of my moderators have been experiencing this problem and it's not just limited to me.

    To Move a Topic

    To move a topic you can either click the move button above your mod quick tools, or select 'move this topic' from your quick mod tools drop down menu. You will then have to select the forum you want to move it to, and whether you want to leave a shadow topic. A shadow topic stays in the forum the post was originally made, but when clicked, opens up in the forum it has been moved to. Click yes to confirm you want to move the topic and you will be told if the topic was sucessfuly moved or not.
    Please note: Your shadow topic will stay as long as the original topic exists. If you remove the moved topic, the shadow topic will also disappear. Otherwise, you can moderate the forum to delete the shadow topic
