How do I set threads to take the user to the last post?

The title pretty much says it all. I'd like for users to be send to the last post in a thread automatically, not just the newest post to them or the first post on the first page. I have the option under General > Messages and Emails > Configuration called "Always show the first post in the topics" set to "No" yet it still brings them to the first post in threads automatically.

If I understand you, there is no option.

Ah. That's... fairly poorly designed. Is there any way to custom code it that you know of? Or would I have to post this thread on another board?

No no. See, the way it is right now, if you click the thread named "So and So" from the index page, it'll take you to page one, post one. I want it to take you to whatever page and whatever post is the last one posted. It's such an inconvenience to have to do is manually.

to get to the last post you simply need to click the "view latest post" button behind the topic title, doesn't that do what you want?

there are 2 ways to do this:
The easiest way is to use the lastest topic widget (can activated in ACP-->Modules--> Forum Widgets Management).

The other way is to click on the last topic/page button from the forum   .

Note these will not solve you clicking it from the homepage and only getting to the first page, but if you choose to view the topic that way then you must manually click the pages (#) icon to get to the last page. The above methods, however, will re direct you to the page.
