    Solved Forum width too wide

    Post by tillytiger99 April 5th 2015, 10:43 pm

    Hi,
Im new to working this all out, so bear with me! The forum width is too wide on the screen and a scroll bar comes along the bottom of the page to move along. Is it because my header is too wide and it stretches the forum? Ive set the width to 80%, is this too big. I changed it to 60% but couldnt see the difference. Any help is really appreciated! Here is a link if you need to take a look here
    Thank you

well, Ive fixed the issue with the header, but the forum posts section is still too big, with the scroll bar along the bottom still there. Any way to fix this?

    Hi @tillytiger99,

Using percentages for your forum width is smart, as it'll resize the forum to the width of the user's viewpoint. If your forum is exceeding the horizontal overflow it can most likely be caused by post content. For example, very large images or unbreakable lines of texte can increase the width of the forum, especially on version phpbb2.

If it's caused by images, try enabling the following option.
Administration Panel > General > Messages > Configuration > Images resize

Enabling this will resize large images so they don't affect your forum's width.

I thought that made sense as the images do seem large and magnified. I changed them to 400 pixels instead of 800, the previous setting, but that hasn't made a difference. Any other ideas?

Could you provide a link of where this specifically occurs ? I'm looking on the main forum and I see zero problems, in fact at smaller resolutions it seems to fit to the screen almost perfectly. blackeye
