I am not sure I entirelly understand... what are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to modify the who is online map? Please clarify .

First you need to make sure the viewonline statistics are active.
Administration Panel > Display > Structure and hierarchy
Find Display viewonline information box on index and choose either root index or always, then save.
Next to enable the map, go to Administration Panel > General > Forum statistics
Under GoogleMap options you should have to option to enable and disable the map.
