#1578 Poll boxes aren't visible on mobile device

I created some poll for my members and many use their smart phones to access the forum. But the boxes don't appear on the smart phone so they can't answer the poll.

I checked on a tablet (iPad) and they work fine. Then I checked on my phone (iPhone) and they don't work. Any way to fix this so everyone can see the polls properly from all devices?

Here are screenshots of both the basic version and the classic version. It makes no difference, neither work right.

It seems like on the classic version the boxes are visible, have you tried casting the vote using classic version?

Yes, and it makes no difference on a smartphone. Neither version work. I said this in my first post.

Not all my users have access to the forum via computer or tablet. I need it to work on a smartphone.

You say the voting buttons dont appear in the first post, the screenshot above shows what the voting buttons SHOULD look like.

May you elborate further whT you mean? Does it not let you select your vote? Does it let you click the vote button? Do you get a message?

Because from the screenshot above it looks like it 'appears' properly .

That's the view from a tablet, not a phone. The screenshots in my first post show what it looks like on a phone.

Can you not see those screenshots? I already said they work fine on computer and tablet. That's not the issue. They don't work on phone. Do you see the screenshots in my first message?

I only added screenshots from a tablet because Buttercup requested them. I don't know why she requested them since I already said those work fine. This issue is phone.

Oh ok, I believe Buttercup ust have missed the screenshots then... Yes I see the screenshots, I didnt see you see that you say they work fine from your tablet, I apologize.

May you set the permissions for the above poll so guests can vote in it real quick? I will check and see if it works from my phone.

permissions are set so guests can vote. Guests should be able to vote in any poll in the forum. Check out all of them you want.

If that is indeed the case then I get the same problem, it just shows the results. However the polls work on the support forum and my forum from my phone, so it is issue with your forum. Do you have any css or javascripts installed on thr forum?

No, I'm not that tech savvy. I've not added anything that wasn't already there.

Hmm... Have you made any recent changes in the acp?

Please don't use acronyms. What is "acp?

But I doubt it. I've not changed anything that could have possibly caused this. Especially since this has been an issue from day one, not something that recently happened all of a sudden. It's never worked right.

Acp stands for Administration Control Panel, its what we here on the support forum use to refer to the admin panel. Sorry for the confusion on that?

Have you changed anything in it though? Even if its small? Even if you think it may not have caused the issue?

You mean the area where I created all the setting for the forum? Created categories, forums, gave permissions and all that? Sure I made lots of changes in the process of setting up the forum. Kind of had to or I wouldn't have a forum.

If you mean something else then you'll have to tell me where to look. Cause I don't know where that is. And so I'd have to say, no I haven't since I don't even know where it is.

Tell me where to look. I'll take screenshots of whatever you want to see.

Well I just meant in general? Have you only tinkered with the categories and forums or havs you changed anything else?

Some mobile devices will not work on the forum.  It depends on what kind they are and how old they are.

As I mentioned before, I'm not that tech savvy. I've only done enough to create the forum. Nothing more.

I have an iPhone 6, completely up to date with newest updates. Can't get any newer than that and it doesn't work. So I'd say that's not the problem.

Well as I said, I don't know how to help you then if you made no changes in the acp and your phone is update, because your forum appears to be the only one with the problem.

I would ask if it could be connected to the skin I'm using. But it also doesn't work in basic version without the skin. I had an issue the text color with a previous skin I tried. It kept using white font on white background. I couldn't figure out how to fix it until I changed skins. Then the problem went away.

I didn't know my forum was the only one with this problem. I just figured everyone else simply accepted it as a site flaw.

There are very few tweaks I can make to the polls. I've set who can vote, and how many items can be in a poll. I don't see anything that could effect how it's displayed. Is there something I'm not finding that could affect this?

This is the first forum I've ever created. I watched a few youtube.com videos to help me set it up. So I've done nothing outside of routine setup.

Did you set a poll length?

Yes, I set it to the max allowed, 50 items. I needed it for one particular poll I needed to make that ended up having 41 items.

That and permissions of who's allowed to vote in polls are the only things I can see that you can control as far as polls are concerned. Are there any other poll settings I don't know about?

I meant poll expiration, it asks if you want to set one, you put 0 for a never ending poll.

Oh, yes. I set it to 0 to never expire.

Multiple choice: yes
Vote Cancelling is allowed: yes

Run poll for	Days   [ Enter 0 or leave blank for a never-ending poll ]
Multiple choice	Yes    No
Vote cancelling is allowed	Yes    No
Delete Poll

Who are being affected by this issue?
If mobile devices, which version is the issue occurring in?
What browsers see this issue?
Before you noticed this issue, could members vote using mobile devices?

There are some known issues with Chrome browsers.

I will ask, but I can answer a couple of those already.

My forum is new. Just created it on May 3rd of this year. So it's just over a month old. The first one was made on May 5th. And right away people were saying they couldn't vote. So it was an issue right away.

It seems to effect everyone, including me. Only way to vote is via computer or tablet, but not everyone has access to those. Some are using only their phones. I'll ask what kind of phones everyone is using and if they are using chrome. I am using Safari on my iPhone6 and I can't see the boxes either.

Okay I have also tested your forum and mine with My Iphone using firefox and I also have the same problem I Updated my Browser and still the same thing so it looks like a tech problem with the mobile system.

I will ask a second member of staff to test this aswell on there phone and see if they get the same problem if they do I will report it to our tech team for more help.

I have tested this again and found that this maybe a problem with our systems so I will now make a report to our tech team.

NOTE: As they are really busy it may take some time for them to get this fixed.
