Rescue tools

Good morning,

Hopefully this is okay, this is my second support request do not mean to rush you when I went to the home page tab in the admin I scrolled down in the simple tab I believe it was to "rescue tools" it would not let me log in?

Please help?

PS/ It states that log in failed or the email or web address or password is wrong? Thank you:) It is the "founders tool page"

Hello @jan4jam,
If you are the forum founder you can use Forum Utilities and you will need the forum url or the founder's e-mail and password to login. If the e-mail that you are using is not the founder's e-mail you cannot login and you must contact forumotion staff about this problem.

If you have changed the founder's account on the forum, it will not change for the forum utilities.

Good afternoon,

I did change my email and user name but it does say that I may enter the Domain name so I entered both the "free" one I got when I created the forum, and the Domain Name I bought, then put my pass word in and it does not work still? 

The reason maybe because the Admin such as yourself but someone else had to change my pass word, reset it, for me as after I logged out the first time after working on the forum, it would not let me in for some reason. So I reset it.

So the pass word unfortunately was changed too, but I did change it back to what it was originally when created the forum, make sense? sounds confusing I know but it is the same pass word as at the start of creating the group?

Sorry forgot but what is that site Founders tools all about, is it something that will help me with my forum, like important and something I should have access to?

You need to be in the advanced mode in the administration panel.

What exactly is not working?

The forum utilities is a tool for fixing some of your problems in your forum if something was to go wrong
Like:
Doing a backup of the full forum.
backing up users,
Backing up a theme if it was to go wrong when making a change to it,
Backdating the forums to a later date.


Your forum tools are set to the account you made the first time you made your forum,

If you changed the password by asking for it to be changed by a member of our staff here on the support forum then your forum utilities password will be the one we sent you.
Your forum address will be the one you made your forum at the day you made your account/forum Not your domain one.

Note : once you get in to your tools you can then change the Password to the same as the forum one by making the edit's in the tools this will not change the password in the forum as the tools do not work like that unless we reset your account for you.

Good morning Ape,

One question when I go to Back up, what do I select to back up my site as it is now, so I know how to save it when I am done creating and setting permissions etc.?

 What do I select for "back up type" 
and
 also "restore the forum such as it was" I provide the latest date right for the last modification? to the forum?

You do not have to do a back up.  Forumotion does it for you.  Back ups (restore dates) are when you want to restore your forum to an earlier date.
