    Solved Unselect administrator permissions

    Post by whitestone May 24th 2015, 1:49 pm

    Hi there,

    So I want to unselect the permissions for a forum from the Administrator (Group of the forum administration).

    For example:

    Person A;
    Person B;
    Person C;

    Person A,B,C are in the Administrator group (so they can do everyhthing)
    Person A,B are in the Secret group (for example).

    When I open a topic, the administrators are automatically selected for all permissions.
    I DON'T want that. I just want to select the Secret group.

    I can't do that.

    Any possibilities?

    Hello,

    I may be mis understanding... You want your administrators group to be hidden and the others to appear in a different group? Also as far as unselecting mod privileges for an admin for a section, I do not believe there is a way to do that, administrators have global moderator permissions plus permissions to access the administration panel. By default an admin has global moderation permissions over the entire site, this can not be changed via permissions via forumotion I am afriad Sad.

    Regards,
    -Brandon

    If you are referring to the original Administrator group that is created when you create the forum then you can not uncheck those boxes because the founder account in that group.

    Thx @SLGray.

    If there's another option or something to do that, that would be great.
    Because I just want certain people to show that forum, and not all administrators.
    Maybe Forumotion needs to implement that??

    Create another Administrator group and add the members who you do not want to see that forum.  If you keep them in the original Administrator group they will see that forum.

    Not if they are removed from the default administrators group. Its a tricky thing, you can add them to other groups, but if you REMOVE them from the adminstrators group then they will no longer be an administrator.

    Yes that's the problem.
    I want certain people administrators, BUT I want certain Administrators to not show a specific forum.
    But if I can make a new group and give that group permission to use the 'Administration Panel' that would be great.

    Maybe someone other solutions? ? ?

    Then you can close/lock this Topic @SLGray.
    Thank you all for your help.

    EDIT: Is there a way to password protect a forum ?
    But then again that administrators can't access them?
