Adminstrator Unable To Post External Links

Hello
I never had this problem before until this evening.
Even though I have disabled the security panel to allow a member to post external links and given them full Admin status. They are still unable to post external links. I have done a screen shot of the admin panel and the member with admin status.

May I ask what link they were trying to post specifically?

It could be a link to a site that Forumotion does not allow.  There has been some topics on the support forum about this.

Yeau was thinking the same thing slg, thats why I asked him if he knew what specific link it was. If the link is on the FM's blacklist (an example would be Bestbuy), then it won't work no matter what permissions a user may have on any forumotion forum.

This member is posting TV Screen caps like myself using, Image Bam, Some Image and IMGBox picture uploaders.
We are not posting unauthorised links of pictures, also I am unaware of a Blacklist, also we are not posting anything that breaks Terms of Service.

You dont have to be posting anything that breaks the TOU for a link to be blacklisted. Usually a link or website can end up on the blacklist if alot of spammers link to it. For example, try posting bestbuy . com and you will find you cant. The reason: its blacklisted.


The blacklist is server side so we (the volunteers and likewise) have no idea whats on the list and whats not. Once a site is put on the list tho, it seems it seems it will never be removed.

Thanks for the advice, I will wait till my member comes back online this evening to see if all is well.
The mystery is we post TV Screen caps using image uploaders without any issues on my previous site that I deleted. However I have had another check in the admin panel to ensure that I have deactived the spam mode, and restrictions on new members who have been registered less than seven days.

If all is well then I will let you know

Well if you de activated the 'dis allow users of less then 7 days' option, then yes he should be able to post the link, especially if he is an admin. If all is not well, try this: Try re activating it, saving then de activating it again and saving and see if this helps any. Sometimes the server doesn't get the memo and doesn't properly save your settings even though it says it has, doing what I said above can give ths server a boot in the rear and make it actually save your settings.

Thanks for the advice, just letting you know that the member in question has had no problems posting external links (Image Bam, ImgBox). I gave the board another reconfiguration after my last post and seems to have worked.
