Facebook Connect module

hi ,


im trying to setup the Facebook Connect module ..and is asking to create an app at facebook ..i tried .. but didnt know how .

please help me manage this option ..in order to add sign in by facebook .

Yes in order to have this feature on your forum, you first have to create an app for it on Facebook Developers: https://developers.facebook.com/ .

yes , but i did tried as i mentioned and didnt work .. is there any way to manage it and solve it in an easy way ..hope you can help with this. thank you.

Unfornatelly no, you must have the app for this feature to work. Did you put your app details in the admin panel? I mean where facebook connect feature is? Do you get an error when you try using the feature? May you provide a screenshot?

With these things, I can try and help you troubleshoot why the app isn't working for you yet.

what i should setup .. ?? i just add the APP ID and THE SECRET CODE .. the facebook icon appears at the sign in out side i press after that it gives this msg : App Not Setup: This app is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions.

Have you associated your two accounts?

Profile > Preferences
Associate Accounts:

New members from now on will not have to associate their account since they used the Facebook Connect to register.

This means your app is still set to to 'Testing/development mode', which means your app isn't public and only certain users such as the developer and any testers he may set can use the app. To make the app public, you need to go to your dashboard, under your app name, but over your app id stuff, click on the little question mark.

This wilk take a screen that says 'Do you want make this app and all its live features available to the general public?' you will see a little slider with yes and no, slide it to yes.



Your app should then be public and work properly.

Note: If you are trying to connect using this feature to the facebook account used to create the app (the one your logged into on FB Developer), it will probably still show you an error, but this does not mean your feature is not working, its just not working for YOU, anyone else it should work. I figured this out when it wouldnt work under my personal fb account, but would under a secondary account I created for the forum.

yes, it did worked now ..but as i see it redirect me to register normally even i dont get the user details from the user from facebook .. try to register and see : http://globcomark.forumarabia.com/

Yeah, that is how the feature is supposed to work if you don't already have an account on the forum, it has to send you to the registration page so you can make one. This is normal .
