    Hello,
You can try creating a special group to do that.

    Read this: https://help.forumotion.com/t10988-organizing-groups-colors-in-legend , https://help.forumotion.com/t138466-permissions#937548

    Have a nice day!

when I remove the "members" from the permission of writing on that category, to remove one group where I put that one user in, than the other members can't write on that category, if you see :/

Ok, let me explain all the steps Wink
    ---

    1. Go to Acp > Users & Groups > Groups Management > Create New Group. and set up all the options :

    -Group Status: Hidden.
    - Permission to send private messages in bulk: Members.
    -Group auto-subscribe : No.
The color and the moderator and the name is your choice.

    2. In group members, type the username that you want to deny access to the forum.
    3. Hit save to create the group.

    4. Now go to ACP > General > Categories and forums > Edit the permission of the forum clicking on the button Perms

    5. Unselect the group in the part "View and read" and hit save.

    That's all

Unselect all and select only the groups that you want to allow to see the forum.
Do not select that "moda" group.

I also recommend to create a group for members and select the forums that they can view and read. I say that, because if you select members an guest, all options will be marked.

You should also be in advanced mode.  Scroll to the bottom of the page and press the advanced permissions link.

but as I understand it, than I have to put all the others in another group so I can "check" them to be able to write on that category..

it's a lot of work if you have 300 users :S

    Look this screenshot:

restrict an user from a subforum Specia10

If you click on "members", all permissions will be added to all.. uncheck that and only check administrators, moderators and any group called "Official Members" and with this last group, check view and read, write and reply. With this you will allow this group to reply and see the forum.

Do not select "moda", and all member that you add in this group, can't see the forum, write or any other action that you want.

    Hello,

I believe if you make a new group and select 'Auto Subscribe' it will add all current members to the group. I am not 100% sure though Smile.

It does. Atleast if someone registers though.
