Admin Account Hacked: Password And Email Changed

Someone from an unknown region has gotten into my forum and changed my Admin password and Email and now I can't get in. I need to know what to do to return this to normal. Thank you. The forum is ' theveritas.forummotion.com. '

Also, is there a way to make the site more secure so that this does not happen again?

Also the IP Addresses are as follows: 66.249.82.199 and 121.54.44.161

You are the founder correct? If so, have you tried seeing if you can get into the forum utilities: https://www.forumotion.com/utils . Try this, use your original foundation e-mail and password. If it works, you can use direct access to restore your account, change your password and e-mail. If it doesn't let me know, I can put in a request for the e-mail to be changed and a new password to be dispatched to you.

Yes, I was able to get into the Utilities and I have reset the password. However, I still don't know how to do the direct access change. After getting into the Utilities, what is it that I should do?

You should see a tab called 'direct connection' once your in the forum utilities, click this. This will connect you directly to your forum admin panel, from which you can reset your password on your forum founder account as well as your e-mail.

I tried this and it still says that I cannot access the Founder account. I think I need to try something else.

Can you show me a screenshot of the steps you are doing in the forum utilities?

If you changed the founder password on the forum via the direct connection, by going to the founder profile, then you should be able to login to your account using the password you changed it to.

Yeah Ape, that was going to be my next step, but I wanted to see if I could help the user resolve it through the founder utilities first, since they seem to still have access to it, if the utilities didn't work then I was going to request this info to put in the request for an email address change and password reset, but I wanted to exhaust every resource available to the user themself first, since a change of foundation e-mail through our tools will require action from the main office which can take longer sometimes.

I appreciate the help of you both, honestly. So thank you very much for attempting to exhaust all efforts. That's a really good quality and very helpful. I did, at least, get the chance to change something that was useful and learn to use the Utilities a little better. That's very helpful, too. ^^

Have you sent the pm with the info Ape asked for yet? If not, then please send it to either me OR Ape, but NOT both of us.

Which ever one of us you send it to, will put in a request for your foundation e-mail to be changed and password reset.

Oh yes, I sent Ape the PM already and he says it's getting worked on. My issue isn't resolved just yet, but I will let you know when it is!
